Weekly poll number 2 asks what you think about advice on consulting a doctor prior to beginning a new workout regimen. It’s one of those ubiquitous disclaimers that makes me wonder what life was like before they existed.

I’ve coached a lot of folks over the years and one thing that is fairly common when returning to exercise is impatience. In fact, the longer you’ve been away from good fitness the more likely you are to be impatient for results. Quite simply though, it can be dangerous to rush back into things.

Thanks for voting and, better yet, share your thoughts on this in a comment and I’ll discuss the results next week from Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Last week’s poll results showed the majority of you use your heart rate monitors to improve performance. Second place was losing weight, then fitness testing and finally medical monitoring. These results suggest that the majority of you know what zones your training in and how to get results utilizing them properly.
